# GitHub Developer Velocity

> Quantified developer commit velocity, pull requests, and core repo activity across top protocols

# GitHub Developer Velocity

Quantifies genuine protocol building activity by measuring verified GitHub code commits, merged pull requests, active core contributors, and release frequency.

Filters out automated bot commits and dummy repos to isolate genuine protocol engineering momentum.

***

### Query Parameters

**symbol** `string`

Filter to a specific protocol ticker (e.g. `ETH`, `SOL`, `AVAX`, `LINK`). If omitted, returns ranked developer velocity leaderboards.

***

### Key Metric Fields

* `commit_velocity_30d`: Verified commits to core protocol repositories over the past 30 days.
* `active_core_devs`: Number of distinct developers with at least 3 merged PRs in the last month.
* `velocity_trend`: Percent change compared to the previous 30-day period.

print(f"30-Day Commits: {dev.get('commit_velocity_30d')}")
```
